Karen Christensen

Long Term Care Administrator

 

Karen was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois.  After high school Karen left Rockford to attend Illinois State University.  In 1997 she graduated from ISU with a degree in business administration with a minor in Sociology.  During her last semester she had an internship with the administrator at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Normal.  It was this experience that lead Karen down the Long-Term Care (LTC) path.

 

After graduation Karen began work in the Marketing Department at Heritage Enterprises, the corporate office for all Heritage Manor nursing homes.  After ten years at the Heritage Enterprises home office, Karen obtained her LTC Administrator License and transfered to the Heritage Manor in Gibson City as the administrator.  Karen then took over the responsibilities as the Gibson Area Hospital LTC Annex Administrator in May of 2011.

 

Karen and her husband, Corey, a native of Gibson City, live in Gibson City with their children Sadie and Jason.  In her spare time she enjoys shopping, cross stitching, and reading.
