Love Lights a Tree
November 17, 2011
The Gibson Area Hospital (GAH) Auxiliary, in conjunction with the GAH Foundation is sponsoring the seventh annual Love Lights a Tree fund-raiser to support Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services.
The chairmen of this year’s event are auxiliary Co-Vice Presidents Sue Walker and Maggie Sparks. Last year’s campaign raised over $13,000 and this year the chairmen are hoping to surpass that amount. Funds generated from Love Lights a Tree will be used for one or two big projects benefiting patient care and comfort at the hospital. Past gifts have been used to purchase a baby warmer for the nursery and handicap accessible seating for the waiting areas at the hospital.
The Love Lights a Tree Celebration enables an alternative to traditional Christmas giving. A gift can be donated in memory or in honor of a loved one. Donors are asked to make a minimum donation of $20 per person to be honored. Donation forms may be saved and printed off below or picked up at the hospital, from businesses in Gibson City and surrounding communities, and from any Auxiliary member. For more information, please call GAHHS at 784-2600.
There are 20 evergreen trees located near the hospital entrance. As goals are met through the fundraiser, the trees are light one by one. The first tree is lit when $500 in donations have been received. The second tree is lit when $1000 has been donated, the third at $1,500 and so on until all twenty are lit. The campaign will be running from November 1, 2011 to January 1, 2012. All donations are tax deductible and donors will receive tax information and commemorative gift cards that can be given to the honoree or the family of a loved one.
