Karen Zirkle Awarded GAHHS Employee of the Month for August

Karen Zirkle has been awarded the Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services (GAHHS) August Employee of the Month. Karen, born and raised in Onarga, continues to live there today with her husband Bob. Karen received her associate’s degree in Nursing from Parkland College and has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years.
Karen has worked at GAHHS for four years and really likes that Gibson Area Hospital is a very staff oriented hospital. However, what she really likes the most about her job is the interaction with her patients. “I enjoy the feeling I get after taking care of patients all day,” Karen said. “Whether it’s that someone is having less pain or maybe they understand their sickness better.”
In her free time Karen loves spending time with her three children and four grandchildren. She also enjoys working in her flowerbeds and traveling.
