Family Health Care of Fairbury is Now Open

In an effort to better meet the needs of the rural communities in our area, Gibson Area Hospital has taken the step necessary to open a health care facility in Fairbury. 

On October 10, 2011 these efforts will came to fruition when Rachel Wenger, M.D. opened the doors to the Family Health Care of Fairbury. 

“I am originally from Strawn and I have always wanted to practice in the area where I was born and raised,” said Dr. Rachel Wenger.  “For over a year now I have been able to with the Prairie Family Medicine & Obstetrics Clinic in Forrest.  While I am sad to leave my colleagues, I am very excited about the opening of the Family Health Care of Fairbury and the ability to continue to serve my community.”

Wenger is excited to practice in Fairbury and plans to continue to provide the excellent patient care she provided in Forrest.  “We will provide a complete family practice with maternity care, pediatrics, geriatrics and in-office procedures.”  Wenger continued, “My philosophy for taking care of my patients has always been to provide the best care possible and I look forward to continuing that in Fairbury.”

The Family Health Care of Fairbury is located at 401 S. Clay Street and will be open on Mondays from 7:30a.m. To 2:00p.m. and on Tuesdays thru Fridays from 7:30a.m. To 4:30p.m.
