There are 12 scholarships to be awarded in the spring by the GAH Auxiliary. Applicants must be a resident of the GAH service area and be pursuing post high school study in an accredited medical program. A “medical field” includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, all levels of nursing, pharmacists, athletic training and any other career related to health.
The Auxiliary will pay a sum of money (half of the scholarship award) when the scholarship is awarded (at the Auxiliary Spring Banquet) and the remaining half at the start of the spring semester. The funds are to be applied toward tuition, fees, room and board, books or uniforms that are required as part of an accredited program leading to a career in a medical field. Funds will be paid to the recipient. Scholarships are awarded at the GAH Auxiliary Spring Banquet in May.
